✅ What Worked: Fun comedic moments, occasional sweet romance, charming supporting characters.

❌ What Didn't:  Inconsistent characterization, exaggerated facial expressions, underdeveloped backstories, awkward romantic clichés, and questionable plot logic.

👀 Worth Watching? Yes, I think so. An occasionally charming and entertaining romance, but one that requires patience with its many frustrating moments.

I think I’ll be perpetually puzzled by this drama, much like the main character with the thousand question-mark faces she constantly makes. That, along with Baek Ho-rang’s inconsistent character, made for a weird viewing experience that I found entertaining yet highly annoying.

I would best describe this drama as eating a vanilla ice cream cone with a few sprinkles. Some bites are delicious, but then the ice cream starts melting all over your fingers, leaving you with a sticky mess. You enjoyed the treat, but the mess made the experience a little less pleasant, and ultimately, the whole thing was rather forgettable. Ill dive into it below, so just a heads-up that there will be spoilers from here on out.

This drama started off on such a fun note! We have a nearly 30-year-old writer with a rather inconvenient superpower. Electricity flows through her body, meaning anyone unfortunate enough to touch her gets a painful little shock. So, naturally, physical contact is a big no-no. That is, until woohoo! Enter Mr. Chaebol, whom she meets randomly when a chubby boy chasing after a male celebrity accidentally sends him flying straight into her lips (loved it, hilarious!). Cue the balloons, hearts, and everything pink! But wait, something's different. Mr. Chaebol didn't get electrocuted! And while she's busy celebrating finally finding someone she can touch, little does she know that Mr. Chaebol has an artificial heart with a battery that just happens to need her electricity to keep him alive.

And so, the two strike a deal! For the next three months, while Ho-rang waits for a replacement battery, Bo-bae will keep his heart charged, which means living together. What could possibly go wrong?

This is where we really get into the meat of the drama, as their lives become increasingly intertwined, bringing plenty of hilarious moments along the way. Some of my favorites include Bo-bae's ridiculous romantic dream sequence in episode 3, where she fantasizes about kissing him, the hysterical towel incident where Ho-rang finds himself practically naked, and the haunted house scene where a terrified Ho-rang grabs onto the actress playing a ghost instead of Bo-bae, leaving our poor leading lady behind! These were some of the most memorable moments for me, and I genuinely had fun watching them. Unfortunately, not everything about their developing relationship was quite as enjoyable.

Now, let's talk about one of the most annoying things about this drama for me: Bo-bae's thousand question-mark faces! Seriously, why was she constantly looking so confused?! The raised eyebrows, the puckered lips, the bewildered eyes. Once I started noticing it, I couldn't stop, and it eventually became so distracting that I struggled to focus on the drama itself! What makes it even stranger is that I've seen Chae Soo-bin in other dramas and never noticed this habit before. So why did she feel the need to make that same puzzled expression over and over again? It irritated me to no end!!!!

And it wasn't just her! Ho-rang's character was also insanely inconsistent, and I'm talking beyond the usual serious chaebol with a sweet man underneath trope. It was the strange facial expressions, the awkward smiles, and the oddly childish behavior at times. And what was with the glasses? He clearly didn't need them to see better, yet he'd randomly put them on for a few scenes, seemingly just for the look. Even his position in the company confused me. One moment, he's this all-powerful chaebol, and the next, he's a rather lonely man with few friends and a rigid, dysfunctional family. I just couldn't get a consistent sense of who he was supposed to be.

And then there's the usual K-drama logic! Like Bo-bae going outside swinging a baseball bat because she thinks there's a burglar lurking around. Or the painfully awkward, cringeworthy behavior once the two start developing feelings for each other. You know the routine: suddenly they can't look each other in the eye, there's nervous coughing, awkward silences, and all that nonsense. Seriously, how much better would it be if, instead, they teased each other, joked around, or simply acted playful and comfortable together?

Now, I dont want you to think this drama was all bad on my end!

There were plenty of fun moments and genuinely good episodes, especially when Bo-bae dropped the innocent, perpetually confused expressions and started taking charge! When she was funny without being cringeworthy, standing up to those who opposed her, and showing a little fire, she was actually an incredibly charming character. Honestly, whenever she wasn't making that face, I really liked her! One of my favorite moments was when she started cursing after what I think was their second kiss, complaining that it was over way too quickly, or something along those lines. That was hilarious, and exactly the kind of Bo-bae I wanted to see more of!

I felt that much of the characters' backstories were underdeveloped, and exploring them further could have given the drama so much more depth. For example, why couldn't the villainous Han Seol-hee have something else she loved besides Ho-rang? Or another side to her personality beyond hatred and anger, which, by the way, she portrayed beautifully! I honestly think she was one of the stars of this drama, and I looked forward to every appearance because she brought a certain edge to the story. My only point of contention with the director, costume designer, or whoever was responsible: give this woman better clothes! She deserved gorgeous, high-class dresses and elegant hairstyles to match her character!

Cha Woo-min was really fun to watch, too! I don't think I've ever seen him play anything other than a villainous role, which he does incredibly well! I'm sure this was a fun change of pace for him, and he was such a great presence on screen.

I think both of them played a significant role in carrying the story and making the drama more engaging. Kinda wish they found the romance in each other! That would have been a fun match.

❤️ Final Verdict

This is a genuinely heartwarming drama beneath all the cringe, magical snow, and electrical powers. At the end of the day, it's about two people who fit together like a glove. These kinds of dramas remind you just how lucky those who find their one truly are. How beautiful that must be for them.

There's a lot to love here, but as I've mentioned, there are also plenty of frustrating moments. Still, I would recommend this drama because, despite all the things that annoyed me, it managed to keep me watching until the very end. And surely that counts for something!
