My Demon Review

I will miss my weekends with "My Demon". It was one of those rare gems that I watched while it was airing, most of the time I don't have the patience for that and wait for it to be completed before giving it a go. I was way too excited to see each episode unfold in real time. Here are my thoughts on "My Demon".

Song Kang, as the enigmatic demon Guwon, and Kim Yoo-jung, portraying the spirited CEO Do Hee, brought a delightful chemistry to the screen. Their journey from an unlikely alliance to a deep, emotional connection was the heart and soul of "My Demon." Song Kang's portrayal of a demon grappling with human emotions was both nuanced and compelling, while Kim Yoo-jung shone as a strong, independent character who finds herself entangled in a world beyond her understanding.

The plot of "My Demon" woven around a supernatural twist, initially promised a thrilling ride. The idea of intertwining a demon's fate with human affairs was intriguing and had the potential to break new ground in the fantasy-romance genre. However, as the narrative unfolded, it became apparent that the show would not venture far from the well-trodden paths of K-drama tropes. While the story was engaging and the demon aspect added a unique flavor, it lacked the edge and depth that could have made it truly groundbreaking.

One of the most memorable moments in the show was the tango scene in episode 4. I honestly think it's one of the best k-drama scenes in recent memory. Here is a still from that moment.

In retrospect, "My Demon" will be remembered for its charming leads and their captivating performances. Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung breathed life into their characters, making every scene they shared a delight to watch. Their chemistry was a highlight, elevating the show beyond its conventional storyline.
